Last updated: October 3, 2026

Barebodie ("we", "us", "our"), operated by Anubhuti Culture India, runs the website www.barebodie.com and all related content, features, products and services (the "Services"). Barebodie is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It is written in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to your personal information.

By using the Services or placing an order, you confirm that you have read and understood this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

1. Personal Information We Collect

"Personal information" means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. It does not include information that is anonymous or de-identified. Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number, and billing and shipping addresses.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by third-party payment gateways. We do not store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking credentials. We receive only payment status and a masked payment reference.
  • Account information: username, password, saved addresses, preferences and settings, if you create an account.
  • Order and transaction information: items you view, add to your cart or wishlist, purchase, return, exchange or cancel, and your order history.
  • Fit and preference information: size, measurements or style preferences you choose to share.
  • Communications: messages you send us by email, phone, WhatsApp or other channels, and any reviews or feedback you submit.
  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and how you interact with the Services, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

2. Where We Get Your Information

  • Directly from you, when you place an order, create an account, contact us, subscribe to updates, or enter a contest.
  • Automatically, through cookies and similar technologies when you browse the Services.
  • From service providers such as payment gateways and courier partners, who confirm payments and deliveries.
  • From our partners or other third parties.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the Services: to process payments, fulfil orders, arrange shipping, handle returns, exchanges and refunds, manage your account, remember your preferences, and recommend suitable products and sizes.
  • To verify orders and prevent fraud: including confirming Cash on Delivery orders, authenticating accounts, and detecting or investigating suspicious or unlawful activity.
  • To communicate with you: to provide customer support and send order and account updates.
  • For marketing and advertising: to send offers, new launches and promotions by email, SMS or WhatsApp where you have opted in, and to show you relevant ads on our Services and other websites, including based on items you viewed or added to your cart.
  • To comply with the law: to meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations, respond to valid legal requests, and enforce our terms and policies.

4. Consent and Marketing

We process your personal information based on your consent, or for legitimate uses permitted by law, such as fulfilling your order. You can withdraw your consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in them, reply STOP to SMS or WhatsApp marketing messages, or contact us at info@barebodie.com. We send marketing messages by SMS or WhatsApp only if you have opted in. Withdrawing consent will not stop transactional messages about your orders, such as confirmations, shipping updates and delivery notifications.

5. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed, with:

  • Shopify and service providers who work on our behalf, for example website hosting, payment processing, analytics, customer support, cloud storage, fulfilment and shipping.
  • Courier and logistics partners, to deliver and pick up your orders.
  • Payment gateways and banks, to process payments and refunds.
  • Marketing and advertising partners, such as Google and Meta, using cookies or pixels to measure and show ads. They use your information under their own privacy notices. We aim to share only what is necessary, and you can opt out of targeted ads through our cookie settings or your browser and ad-platform settings.
  • Third parties you ask us to share with, or where you otherwise give consent, for example through social media or login integrations.
  • Authorities, where required by law, court order or legal process, or to protect our rights and prevent fraud.
  • A successor business, if Barebodie is merged, sold or restructured, in which case your data may be transferred to the new owner under this policy.

6. Discreet Handling

We understand the personal nature of intimate apparel. Your purchase details are kept confidential, shared only with partners who need them to fulfil your order, and never displayed publicly. Packaging and billing descriptors use discreet wording.

7. Our Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve them. Information you submit is transmitted to Shopify and to third parties that may be located in countries other than where you live.

We also use certain Shopify enhanced features that draw on data from your interactions with our store, with other merchants, and with Shopify. For these purposes, Shopify is responsible for processing your personal information, including responding to your requests about that use. To learn more, visit the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy at https://privacy.shopify.com/en, where you can also use the Shopify Privacy Portal to exercise your rights.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, analyse traffic, and support advertising. You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly.

  • Necessary: keep your cart, checkout and login working. These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics: show us how the website is used so we can improve it.
  • Marketing: measure ads and show relevant offers. Used only with your consent.

9. Third-Party Websites and Links

The Services may link to websites or platforms run by others, such as social media. We do not control and are not responsible for their privacy or security practices, so please read their policies. Information you share on public or semi-public platforms may be visible to others.

10. Data Security and Retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, such as secure (HTTPS) connections, access controls and trusted payment providers, to protect your data. No security measure is perfect, and information sent over the internet may not be fully secure in transit, so please avoid sharing sensitive information through unsecured channels. Please also keep your account password confidential.

We keep your personal information only as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, resolve disputes, enforce our policies, and meet legal obligations such as tax and accounting records. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. If a data breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

11. Children

Our Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us at info@barebodie.com and we will delete it.

12. International Transfers

We and our service providers, including Shopify, may store and process your personal information on servers outside India. Where we do so, we take reasonable steps to keep your information protected.

13. Your Rights and Choices

Under the DPDP Act, 2023 and other applicable law, you may:

  • Ask for a summary of the personal information we hold about you and how it is used.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
